I have loads and loads of 'scrappy' wool so I am making lots of smaller items to use some, I am enjoying them too as they can usually be completed in about 2 evenings :-)

My latest project was a headband using black, blue, pirple and cream wool. The colours are so vibrant and gorgeous. The headband is designed to keep head and ears warm in the colder months.

The next photo is my most recent yarn purchases. I want so much yarn at the moment but I think my husband will divorce me if I buy any more without knitting some up.

The left skeins are rainbow which I bought from knitterarty, the middle one is apples and pears sock yarn from babylonglegs and the right hand one is a custom skein that Carley at Bibs and Bots dyed for me. This evening I will be browsing ravelry deciding what to knit.

This is a little something I have made for myself. Its a Darkside Cowl (pattern on Ravelry) made from Natural Dye Studio aran wool (I have had it in my stash for ages and cant remembr exactly what it is).

I love the way the colours have striped and am very pleased with this little project

Hi everyone

I have been AWOL for a while now so I feel like I should post an update.

In truth I dont know if and when I will re-open LanaVida. I am now working part time which I am really enjoying but its leaving me with precious little time left for knitting.

I am knitting for pleasure at the moment and I am also trying to broaden my skills into crochet which I am really enjoying. I will continue to post on this blog with my projects and general yarn and knitting addiction so please keep looking.

A little update on us

My boys are fantastic and I love them so much, my youngest son turned 2yrs old last week and is getting cheekier by the moment. My eldest son is very quiet in comparison but so loving and I am immensely proud of both of them.

This set was offered during WAHM collaboration month. The gorgeous hoodie jumper is handmade by Nicola at Nitnac and the wool was dyed to match by Emma at Bobby Dazzlers.

I offered to knit the longies to custom measurements which have just been completed.

As you may have noticed I closed my custom list a while ago for new orders. I have just completed the final order from my custom list. There is a reason for this, in early December I will be having fairly major surgery so I am taking some time away from knitting/working to recover and spend time with my two gorgeous little boys, especially over christmas and New Year.

Over the next few weeks I will be doing a few special items for WAHM collaboration month so please keep a look out for those, I will post sneak previews and completed items here on my blog. All being well I am planning to re-open my store and custom list around mid-January.

I am working on 2 pairs of longies at the moment. I have often thought it would much more efficient to work on 2 items at once so I am giving it a go. Both customers requested the custom spots at almost exactly the same time!

Firstly are longies made from Nimbus wool by Woolly Wumpkins for Anna. I actually took the photo this morning and I have done lots more of them now.

Secondly are the camouflage longies for Tracey, I have just about finished the main body so will be splitting for legs very soon.

The colours are so soft in these, I love them!

Fitted nappies at LanaVida

Pictures to follow but I now have a selection of fitted nappies in my store. They are made by a Canadian WAHM called Wee-ones by JaJoC and they are fab.

All the knit print nappies are lined on the inside with super soft suedecloth to give a stay dry layer next to baby's skin.

Coming Soon - Fitted Nappies

I am really pleased to tell everyone I will soon be stocking a small selection of fitted nappies. They are made by a Canadian WAHM business and they are called Wee-ones by JaJoC.

The picture shows one if their nappies I have been testing on my little boy, Harry. The ones I will be stocking are slightly different to the picture in that they will have pockets for boosting and will have a stay dry layer of suedecloth or fleece next to baby skin.

To start with I will only have a small selection of different sizes and prints but if people like them as much as I do then I will stock many more!

Just a quick update post today
No pictures at the moment as my computer has gone for repair and I only have limited access to my hubbys computer which is the only other one we have that is able to upload pictures.

I have made these for buy WAHM month. They are 'scrap' shorties made using some leftover wool from other woollies I have made. On their own, I wouldnt have enough to make anything from the leftover wool but added together I have made some gorgeous and unique shorties.

I used the strawberry fields and summer carnival wool and made large block stripes on the longies. The pink colour in each wool matches perfectly so it has gone together beautifully.

The bonfire night longies are now finished and are currently sitting in a lanolin bath. I hope Katie and Lal like them :-)

I have been very quiet the last few days. I have been completing my custom orders and I am now going to do some goodies for buy WAHM month. I have two collabs with upsy daisy nappies which are currently working on and I have something woolly for the girls and something woolly for the boys.

I was planning on finishing these earlier when me youngest son was having his nap and my eldest son was at pre-school but my youngest had other ideas about sleeping! They are finished now.

I love these, the colours are gorgeous and the ruffles look fab. They are so summery and fun.

The little flowers were a project for me, I think they look very cute.

This week - I have just started longies for Eleanor and Grace using the Under the Sea wool and I am also working on a couple items for buy WAHM month.

I have now finished the spearmint and dark purple longies, the pattern has fallen totally different to the boyish blues and greens longies but i think they look great. This is such a great colourway, the vibrant purple and the pale green look fab together.

I am now starting on shorties using summer carnival colourway. These are going to be a bit of an experiment to me and I am really looking forward to making them.

I receieved lots of wool wash and lanolin in a variety of scents which I will putting in my store as instock items. Hopefully i can do them all tonight/tomorrow. I do have more than what is in the picture.

The So Scrumptious range is by bibs and bots and is 100% natural and 100% british. It is fab.

OT: I am very pleased that I have discovered a lovely WAHM nappy maker. I have a couple of nappies on order that I will test on my LO's and if I like them I will start stocking them. They do fitteds in a range of fabrics, prints, sizes (inc. OS),AIO's, pockets, 2 in 1's and loads more. I will update soon with my verdict.

After a crazy week and getting a couple of days behind I am now back on track and this pic shows progress so far on the boyish blues and greens longies for Lynda's Cailean. The colours, especially the green, are much brighter in real life.

OT again: My youngest little boy started walking on his own yesterday and he is very proud of himself (I am proud of him too).

Today I received more gorgeous wool which will all go in my instock wool. Three different colour combinations and I love them all.

I have nearly finished the blue and sage longies, they are just drying from a lanolise and wash and I need to make an icord. They will go in my store as instock item.

I am also working on Miana's shorties for Jack using the purple rain wool. I will post a pic soon.

OT: My oldest little boy started pre-school today and I am so proud of him. He has never been left before other than with family and he was a star.

Back to business, this week I have been working on some longies which will be for sale on my instock page in a couple of days, they are size large. I love the colours, very fresh and summery.

This week I will be working on purple rain shorties for Miana's Jack and strawberry fields longies for Eleanor's Grace.

I am waiting on some more hand dyed wool which should be here very soon.

I had a technical problem yesterday which has put me a day behind but now I am up and running.

I have finished my little flower shorties and they are on the shop as an instock item.

I hope everyone is well and enjoyed easter break. Far too much chocolate was eaten in my house :-)

The chocolate strawberry shorties are finished, I just need to double check everything is working as it should be on my website and then they will go on the shop for sale. This will be next couple of days.

I am now working on longies from the aqua, royal blue and sage wool.

Coming soon to LanaVida is some more hand dyed wool in various colour combinations.

A little update on what I am doing at the moment. I have nearly finished some medium girly shorties with a little flower I am embroidering on. I will outline the flower and make a waist cord and they are finished.

I am also part way through knitting some large shorties in the chocolate and strawberry coloured wool. I love this colourway so much.

My next task is some longies with the blue, aqua and sage wool.

All these will appear for sale on my shop over the next few days.

Lots of knitting and playing with my boys over this long weekend is planned.

I am very excited today as my hand dyed wool has arrived and I am so pleased with it. I just loves the colours, I cant wait to see what it will all look like once knitted up.

LanaVida has been born

I am waiting on some gorgeous hand dyed wool at the moment and I have received some undyed wool today so will start knitting tonight. I have a few plans and ideas but at the moment I am just planning on knitting up a few in stock items for my store when it officially opens.

I will post updates and piccies as and when things are happening.

For anyone who is interested LanaVida is spanish for woollen life. Spanish is the only foreign language I speak (albeit not very well anymore!).
